Chimp & Zee Rope Adventure Park – Rules & Regulations
General Information
Chimp & Zee Rope Adventure Park is an adventure activity operated at Pines Resort. Participation involves physical activity at height, movement across obstacles, and ziplining above ground and water features. These activities carry inherent risks.
All participants are required to read and comply with the rules and information below before participating.
Booking & Time Slots

No walk-ins are permitted. All participants must book in advance.

Bookings are available via Webtickets or at any Pick n Pay store.

Participants must adhere strictly to their allocated time slot.

Late arrivals may be required to reschedule and may forfeit their booking.
Course Duration
-
The Rope Adventure Course takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on participant ability and course flow.

The average duration is approximately 45 minutes.
Entrance & Access

Rope Course tickets are valid for the Rope Adventure Park only.

Tickets do not include access to the Pines Resort Water Park unless a Combo Ticket is purchased.
Height & Weight Restrictions

Minimum height: 1.2 metres

Maximum weight: 120 kilograms

All participants will be weighed at reception to ensure compliance.
Children shorter than 1.2 metres are not recommended to participate and may be unable to complete the course.
Children under 1 metre are strictly prohibited from participating.
Physical & Medical Requirements

A reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility is required.

Participants should be able to climb stairs unaided.

Participation is not permitted during pregnancy.

Participation is not recommended for individuals with medical conditions, injuries, or limitations that may compromise safety.
Chimp & Zee Rope Adventure Park reserves the right to refuse participation where, in its reasonable opinion, safety may be compromised.
Safety Measures & Equipment

All required safety equipment is provided.

A mandatory safety briefing is conducted before participation.

Trained Rope Course guides monitor and assist participants throughout the course.

The course operates with a continuous belay safety system, designed to keep participants connected at all times.
While safety systems and procedures significantly reduce risk, no safety system can guarantee that injury will not occur.
Early Exit

Participants who feel scared, uncomfortable, or unable to continue must notify a guide immediately.

Guides will assist with safe removal from the course if required.

Refunds are not provided in these circumstances.
Refunds & Rescheduling

Refunds are not provided for participants who are unable, unwilling, or choose not to complete the course.

Rescheduling requests must be made at least 5 hours prior to the booked time slot.
-
Late rescheduling or no-shows will result in forfeiture of the ticket value.
Minors & School Groups
-
Minors must be supervised by a parent, guardian, educator, or designated responsible adult at all times.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the behaviour and supervision of children.
-
For school group bookings, the visiting school remains fully responsible for learner supervision, behaviour, and discipline.

Rope Adventure Park staff and guides do not replace parental or educator supervision.
-
Valid parental consent, indemnity, and POPIA consent forms are mandatory for minors and school groups.
Mandatory Safety Rules
The following rules must be followed at all times:

Only guides may adjust harnesses, carabiners, lanyards, attachments, or trolleys

Do not proceed until instructed by a guide

Keep hands off the top steel cable

Do not climb vertically; move only horizontally along obstacles
-
One person per obstacle at a time
-
A maximum of two people may be on platform poles
-
Ensure the person ahead has cleared the zipline and reached the platform before proceeding

Do not deliberately delay other participants
-
Call a guide immediately if assistance is required
Failure to follow safety rules, including rules relating to obstacle limits, zipline sequencing, and platform capacity, or to follow instructions, may result in immediate removal from the course without refund.
Weather & Operational Closures
The Rope Adventure Park may close temporarily or fully due to weather conditions (including lightning or high winds) or other safety concerns. Closures may occur at management’s discretion.
Where closure is required in the interest of safety, no refunds or rescheduling will apply.
Final Note
Participants are encouraged to follow all rules and instructions to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
